Valentine's Day 2011 =]

Hey, I'm only a week and a day late on this post. Much better than usual.

I took Kacee out to Melting Pot for Valentine's Day dinner. They had a prix fixe menu that was a tad on the expensive side, but it's a holiday so I was expecting it. Plus, it was a 5 course meal. I forgot to take a picture of the salad, but those came in between the shrimp cocktail and the cheese fondue. I have no idea what was extra in this cocktail sauce, but it was some of the best I've ever tried.

My pretty girlfriend, Kacee, all dressed up:

Our Chandon: [Sidenote: YAY, the picture is fuzzy; not just my vision] Although, I was pretty tipsy by the time we left... We finished the bottle.

Champagne swiss cheese fondue with apples, bread cubes, and raw veggies for dipping.

The main course: lobster [2 tails], filet mignon, NY strip, ahi tuna, chicken, and mushrooms. [On the other side that you can't see there was broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, more mushrooms, and plenty of dipping sauces.

Cooking our foooooods in the broth:

And my favorite part... DESSERT! We got the chocolate caramel nut crunch fondue [tastes like a melted Snickers!] with rice krispies treats, pound cake, graham covered marshmallows, oreo covered marshmallows, brownies, bananas, strawberries, and cheesecake. OMNOMNOM. We didn't want this one to end. I've had some good dessert fondue, but this melty-Snickers-thing... THE BEST - especially with the cheesecake & fruits.

Our awesome server took a picture of us. We ended up tipping him 20% MORE, on top of the 18% already included in the check. He was amazing. Our food came out a little fast - We weren't done with each course before the next was served [at least for the first two], but I'm guessing that was more the management and kitchen than him. [It was a busy night, after all.] His name was Steve and he made our night worth it. He was fun, entertaining, attentive, and earned every penny of his tip. When we go back there, we will definitely be requesting him to serve us.

I definitely recommend The Melting Pot if you have some extra cash [hey, or CREDIT!] to blow. It seems a bit expensive, but the tables are all really private, the food is amazing, the service was great, and overall, very much worth the money. Definitely not a once a week type place, but we will be back.

We had the best day, all day, and the evening was just the cherry on top of the giant sundae. <3
